Nestled in the Nilgiri hills, Ooty is a popular Hill station in the south of India. It comes under the Nilgiri Biosphere which is the first Biosphere of India. This lush green town, also known as Udhagamandalam, is situated at an altitude of 2240 m. The hills covered with tea and coffee plantation as well as trees like pine and eucalyptus. Ooty Mountain train is another attraction of this Hill station.

Since early 1800, it was a popular summer destination from Britishers as the temperature never crosses 25 degree. The region is also home to Todas tribe who have been living here since time immemorial. Ooty is also surrounded by other smaller Hill stations – Coonoor located 19 kms away and Kothagiri located 31 kms away and the Toy Train also runs through this region provided spectacular views of hills and surroundings.
