Around 60 kms, from Chennai (the biggest metro city of south India) on the coast of Bay of Bengal lays a beautiful beach town known as Mahabalipuram. The city derived its name from one of it ruler, a demon king, Mahabali who was killed by Lord Vishnu (the protector). City is also known as Mamallapuram.
