Famous for its erotic rock temples which are also a world heritage site, Khajuraho is a must visit place for art lovers. The erotic sculptures at these temples showcasing Kama Sutra are unique. These temples are listed in the UNESCO world heritage sights and also considered as the 7 wonders of India.

The complex having 85 temples were built between 10th and 11th century under the Chandela dynasty. They were abandoned during Mughal rule and were excavated only in the early 19th century. Twenty two Temple have since been maintained and Western group of temple are by far the largest and most well kept of temples in Khajuraho. The city experiences a dance festival every year, a one week affair where different dance forms are performed by the well known artists. The festival is conducted in an open auditorium located in front of the Vishwanatha Temple and Chitragupta Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Sun God.
