HIGHLIGHTS OF CENTRAL INDIA

Travelling through an off the beaten track, this tour focuses on the important sites and temples through the central India.

 

This central India tour highlights the important cities in Madhya Pradesh whch are of cultural and historic significance.. The cities of Gwalior, Orchha and Khaujuraho are special as they have played an important part in the history which can be seen through the various monuments at these places. May it be the Hill Fort in Gwalior built by Sindhia’s, the Jahangir Mahal in Orchha or the Temples in Khajuraho with beautiful carvings, they all present the cultural essence of this nation in some or the other way. The tour will also take you through Agra, the city of Taj Mahal.

Day 01          Arrive Delhi
On arrival at Delhi airport, our representative will meet you to pick you up and transfer to your hotel.
Rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 02          City Tour of Delhi
This morning after breakfast first you will visit Old Delhi. The Raj Ghat, Red fort & Jama Masjid are important places to visit, you may also visit Chandni Chowk, spice market etc.
Later on proceed to visit the New Delhi. The Qutub Minar, tallest stone tower in India, imposing India Gate and the Rastrapathi Bhawan, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Lotus Temple and, newly built Akshardham temple are of much significance. By evening return to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 03          Drive to Agra (210 kms, 4.5 hrs). City tour of Agra
This morning drive to Agra and transfer to your hotel on arrival.
Later during the enjoy visit to the Taj Mahal – a Marble tomb created by a king for her wife as a symbol of immortal love. Later visit the Red fort, a prominent structure of Mughal era and Itmad-ud-daula also known as baby taj.

Day 04          Drive to Gwalior (120 kms, 3 hrs). City tour of Gwalior
Proceed further on your central India tour and drive to Gwalior.
Later enjoy the sightseeing tour of the city covering Gwalior Fort, Jai Vilas Palace, Man Mandir Palace, Suraj Kund and the Teli Ka Mandir.
Overnight at hotel
Day 05          Drive to Orchha (125 kms, 3.5 hrs) via Datia and Sonagiri. Later City tour of Orchha
This morning drive to Orchha enroute visiting Datia and Sonagiri. On arrival check into your hotel.
Later during the day enjoy the tour of Orcha visiting the  Jehangir Mahal, an old palace crowned by graceful chhatris. Also visit the Laxminarayan temple and Raj Mahal during the tour.

Day 06          Drive to Khajuraho (175 kms, 4 hrs). City tour of Khajuraho
This morning depart to Khajuraho and on arrival check into your hotel.
Later in the afternoon you will be taken for a tour of 9th to 12th century temples of Khajuraho known as the architectural marvels of times of Chandela dynasty – the Western Group of temples and enjoy the sunset there.

Day 07          Khajuraho – Delhi
Morning at leisure.  This afternoon take the flight to Delhi and continue with the onward journey/flight back home
