The hostile condition doesn’t stop this city as well its people from expressing the warmth and colours. The city has presents many old mansions which are colourful and impressively built. The highlight of the town is the Jaisalmer fort built in 12th century located on a hill top. Now a UNESCO site in 2013, it is a living fort with people, palaces and mansions residing within the fort. Because of the yellow sand of the deserts, it is also called as Golden city of India.
