As the name suggests, it was originally established as a Tea Estate in 1860 and the owners – Prakash family, still maintains and run the estate with the tea produced being sold through-out the country. In 2002, the family decided to convert it into a boutique heritage hotel and they got involved personally to make it a tranquil and comfortable accommodation. They have ensured that the original design as well as the English touch remains with the property and you will get a feeling of an old Colonial bungalow as soon as you arrive.
The location adds up to the overall charm as the estate is located on a hill top offering stunning views of Kanchenjunga mountain range while down the hill, the river Rungeet flow slowly making it a picturesque surrounding. There are two bungalows in this boutique hotel and each bungalow has 4 suites. All these suites are beautifully designed as per different themes which make no suite similar.
Sipping a cup of tea and enjoying the serenity of this place is the most favoured activity here. However the place has lot more to offer and one can opt for hiking, fishing and cooking programs too.
